High Salary SG

Jimmy Butler-Chicago Bulls (8,800): Butler played a massive 47 minutes on Monday in the Bulls loss to Utah scoring 26 points to go tight seven rebounds and six assists on his way to 43.25 fantasy points. He has at least 40 fantasy points in three of his last six games, and he’s in a good matchup tonight against the Kings who allow the third-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG. Butler posted 26 points, six assists, and seven rebounds in the first meeting of these two teams, and all the signs point to another big game for Butler tonight.  He’s not cheap, to be sure, but he has enough upside to try to fit in his 8.8K salary if you can tonight.

Klay Thompson-Golden State Warriors (7,500): The Wizards have been giving up a ton of points lately and Thompson has been stepping up and shouldering more of the load offensively in the last few games for Golden State.  Thompson has scored at least 32 points in each of his last three games and has at least 35 fantasy points in four of his last six contests.  He is a solid buy at 7,500 tonight, and I think he should have a good game against the Wizards in one of the games that could quickly turn into a shootout in Washington tonight. Over the span of their last five games, the Wizards have given up more fantasy points to opposing SG than every team in the NBA but the 76ers, so Thompson should be set up for success tonight.

Monta Ellis-Indiana Pacers (6,900): Ellis is in a great matchup tonight as well and has been playing well for Indiana lately. He had just 14 points, five assists, and six turnovers in 41 minutes against the Cavs on Monday (25.5 fantasy points) but he had over 55 fantasy points in each of his two games before that. Ellis continues to play heavy minutes with Rodney Stuckey out, and he’s in a tasty matchup tonight against the Nets who allow the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG.

Andrew Wiggins-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,300): Wiggins dropped 30 points last night on the Lakers and supplemented with five boards, two blocks, an assist, and a steal to get to 43.75 fantasy points.  He has at least 25 fantasy points in nine of his last ten games with four games over 32 fantasy points in that span.  He is one of the T-Wolves top offensive options every night and will look to keep things rolling tonight against the Clip-ship in LA.∗∗

Rodney Hood-Utah Jazz (6,000): Hood has been more consistent lately than his counterpart Will Barton and makes a better play than “Will the Thrill” tonight since he’s safer and in a better matchup against the Nuggets who allow the seventh-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG.  I’d take Hood over Barton since he has at least 25 fantasy points in each of his last four games and in five of his last six.  He is a big part of the Jazz recent surge, and he should be able to contribute a solid line tonight in a good matchup against the Nuggets.
