High Value SG

Will Barton-Denver Nuggets (5,700): Barton burst onto the scene earlier this year, hit a rough patch, but now seems to be regaining his footing.  He had 20 points and seven boards against Toronto on Monday and totaled 34.75 fantasy points. He has at least 31 fantasy points in three of his last five contests and seems to be regaining his confidence.  He’s coming off the bench in a tough matchup against the Jazz tonight, so he’s not a “safe” play, but he does heave lots of upside to consider and is worth taking a risk on given his recent run.

Jeremy Lin-Charlotte Hornets (5,400): With Kemba Walker out, Lin could be lined up for a big game depending on his own injury status.  A couple weeks ago, Lin played 40 and 50 minutes in back to back games against the Knicks and Kings piling up 36.5 fantasy points and 41.9 fantasy points, but then he rolled his ankle against the Blazers. He played Sunday against the Lakers with six points, five boards, and five assists in 22 minutes, and he should be ready to give it a go again tonight against the Cavs. He will likely remain in the starting lineup with Walker out but its not clear if Nicolas Batum (questionable) will join him or not. The big question is how healthy Lin’s ankle is, but the Harvard grad was able to play on Sunday and didn’t suffer any setbacks.  I think he’ll be ready for a good game tonight.

Evan Turner-Boston Celtics (5,200): Even with Jae Crowder able to play last night against the Knicks, Turner logged 29 minutes off the bench for Boston totaling 39 fantasy points on 14 points, ten rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  He has at least 30 fantasy points in four of his last five games and has played over 25 minutes in each of his last six. Look for him to continue to log meaningful minutes for the C’s tonight against Detroit who he has averaged 13 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists against in Boston’s three games against the Pistons this season.

Jamal Crawford-Los Angeles Clippers (4,600): Crawford has been surging a bit lately playing over 26 minutes in three straight contests and scoring at least 15 points in each of those outings while adding enough non-scoring stats to get to 26.75, 22.75, and 36.25 fantasy points.  If the Clippers are leading comfortably against Minnesota, they will get Crawford more run, and he has been a pretty solid option for them off the bench making him a nice fantasy value at just over 4.5K.

Dion Waiters-Oklahoma City Thunder (4,600): Waiters had his best fantasy game since joining the stating lineup on Monday finishing with 28.5 fantasy points on eight points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  He has at least 19 fantasy points in four straight since stepping in for the injured Andre Roberson, and he’s one of the few cheap SG who have low risk of giving you a total dud.

Bryce Dejean-Jones-New Orleans Pelicans (4,200): With Tyreke Evans trending towards not playing tonight look for there to be plenty of time on the floor for Bryce Dejean-Jones who will likely get his fourth straight start for New Orleans. He has at least 21 fantasy points in each of his last three games and contributes across the board in a variety of categories. As long as Evans is out as expected, give “Hot Mustard” a look tonight if you go cheap at SG.
