DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup – February 4
High Salary W
Alexander Ovechkin – Washington Capitals ($8,700): Ovechkin had to miss Washington’s first game after the break since he decided to miss the All-Star Game to heal a nagging injury. The injury seems to be gone, meaning Ovechkin should be good to go for tonight’s matchup with the Islanders. He’s got 42 points this season and is still one of the top wingers available in fantasy hockey. He’s had a few bad games this year, but he’s a candidate to have a huge night each time he’s on the ice.
Patrick Kane – Chicago Blackhawks ($8,700): Kane is tied with Alexander Ovechkin in salary and fantasy points per game (5.2). However, Kane’s actual numbers look a lot better. He’s been an absolute beast this season and has 31 goals and 44 assists. He picked up an assist on Tuesday night and will look to take advantage of a good matchup with Arizona tonight.
Taylor Hall – Edmonton Oilers ($7,000): Hall can sometimes get forgotten in Edmonton, but he’s been fantasy gold, especially recently. Hall has registered at least a point in six straight games and has six assists and two goals over that span. He has somewhat quietly put up 52 points through 53 games and has earned fantasy owners 4.5 fantasy points a game. He’ll go up against Ottawa tonight, a team ranked 29th against left wingers. Hall is a top target at winger tonight.
High Value W
Andre Burakovsky – Washington Capitals ($4,100): Burakovsky likely won’t see the 18 minutes of ice time that he saw on Tuesday with Ovechkin out, but he still needs to be considered a must-start. He’s extremely hot right now with a four-game point streak and 10 points in the last seven games. Burakovsky has goals in three straight games, including a two-goal game on January 27. He’s averaging nearly six fantasy points a game in the last four contests and is coming off a 10-shot performance on Tuesday. He absolutely needs to be in your lineup right now.
Cam Atkinson – Columbus Blue Jackets ($4,600): Atkinson is a good sleeper candidate tonight in a favorable matchup with Vancouver. He’s got points in three of the last five games and has had a decent season with 32 total points. With a decent salary and an average of 3.2 fantasy points a game, Atkinson is a fine target tonight.
Ales Hemsky – Dallas Stars ($3,700): Hemsky missed six games in late December/early January due to an injury but has been playing well since his return. He’s got four points in seven games, including an assist in his last game. He’s a bit of a risky play tonight, but the matchup with Colorado is a good one, making him worth the risk.
