4. Terry Bradshaw, Pittsburgh Steelers, Super Bowl XIII

Terry Bradshaw won four Super Bowl for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970s. While he did win Super Bowl MVP twice for the Steelers, his finest performance under center came in Super Bowl XIII against the NFC Champion Dallas Cowboys.

Pittsburgh would go on to defeat Dallas, 35-31, in Super Bowl XIII, a duel between two great Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterbacks in Bradshaw and Dallas’ Roger Staubach. Bradshaw completed 17 of his 30 passes for 318 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception, eclipsing Staubach who played well enough to win (17-for-30, 228 yards, three touchdowns, one interception).

Pittsburgh would often rely on its Steel Curtain defense, its Hall of Fame head coach Chuck Noll, star wideouts Lynn Swann and John Stallworth, and running back Franco Harris. It was Bradshaw’s turn to shine in Super Bowl XIII.

Bradshaw did a fantastic job finding Swann and Stallworth, who combined for 10 catches, 239 yards, and three touchdown receptions. His ability to help his team keep pace with the defending Super Bowl Champion Cowboys would go on to win their third of four Super Bowls of that dynasty.

Pittsburgh and Bradshaw would repeat as Super Bowl Champions and Super Bowl MVP in Super Bowl XIV, but this was the game that Bradshaw carried the Steelers to victory against a dominant Dallas team.
