DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 5
High Value SG
Rodney Hood-Utah Jazz (5,900): Hood had a clunker on Wednesday night finishing with just eight points on 3-12 shooting against the Nuggets in what should have been a good matchup. Before his 11.75 fantasy points in that disappointing contest, Hood had at least 26 fantasy points in five of his previous six games including 38.5 fantasy points against the Hornets and 46.5 fantasy points against the Knicks. Tonight, he’ll face the Bucks who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG over the span of their last five games. Look for Hood to bounce back tonight, and he could be ready for a really big game after a really big letdown on Wednesday. ∗∗∗
Langston Galloway-New York Knicks (5,000): Galloway isn’t quite the steal on DraftKings that he is in some other formats since his price has climbed to 5K. He went back to the bench last night with Jose Calderon’s return, but he out-played Calderon by a wide margin and still played 36 minutes against the Pistons while helping the Knicks climb back into the game. He finished with 17 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal for 28.75 fantasy points. He has at least 23 fantasy points in five of his last six with his only one real clunker during that span coming against Boston. Galloway has the potential to be a nice multi-category threat, and I think he’ll continue to get enough run to eventually pass Calderon and move into the starting lineup as the Knicks PG. ∗∗∗∗
Jamal Crawford-Los Angeles Clippers (4,800): Crawford has at least 15 points in each of his last four games and has at least 22 fantasy points in each of those contests as well. He has over 33 fantasy points in each of his last two games and has been turning in solid assist numbers to go with his offensive production. As long as Blake Griffin is out, look for Crawford’s scoring potential off the bench to be a big part of the Clippers plan including tonight as they head to Orlando. ∗∗∗
Arron Afflalo-New York Knicks (4,700): Afflalo has played over 38 minutes in give of the Knicks last six games and seven of their last ten. He logged 43 minutes against Detroit last night helping the Knicks climb back from a big early deficit only to lose late. The veteran SG finished with 24 points, three rebounds, three assists, and a total of 35.75 fantasy points. He has scored at least 17 points five of his last six games and has at least 25 fantasy points in each of those five games. His recent production and heavy workload make him a good play again tonight against Memphis although it’s not a great matchup since the Grizz do still play pretty solid wing defense and the Knicks could be spent after all the energy the exerted last night. ∗∗
Danny Green-San Antonio Spurs (4,600): Green will be getting more playing time after Manu Ginobili’s unfortunate injury. Green has slowly been picking things up a little bit lately with at least 28 fantasy points in three of his last six games and a few other solid performances as well. He played 39 minutes on Wednesday against the Pelicans, and if he logs that much playing time he’ll be a multi-category bargain at this price starting tonight against Dallas. ∗∗∗
Marco Belinelli-Sacramento Kings (4,500): Belinelli has played 36 minutes in each of Sacramento’s last two games as a result of the Kings’ numerous injuries. Belinelli has scored 18 points both of those games finishing with 28.5 and 32.75 fantasy points. Tonight, he’ll probably get another start as he takes on the Nets in Brooklyn, and if he does he’ll be a good value since the Nets allow the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG. ∗∗∗∗
E’Twaun Moore-Chicago Bulls (4,200): Moore did his best to fill in for Jimmy Butler and scored a career-high 24 points against the Kings on Wednesday. He added five rebounds, four assists, and two steals to get to 41.75 fantasy points in his 39 minutes and he has now played over 30 minutes in three of the Bulls last four games. Moore has over 20 fantasy points in two of his last three games, and he is an especially good play if Butler is again sidelined for tonight’s game in Denver. No Butler-∗∗∗∗∗ With Butler-∗∗ (but still usable since he’s getting time in place of Nikola Mirotic who is out).
