DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 5
High Salary SF
LeBron James-Cleveland Cavaliers (9,600): James will be ready to take on the Celtics in what should be a competitive Eastern Conference matchup that many think could be a preview of the Conference finals. James has at least 44 fantasy points in each of his last four games and in seven of his last eight. He usually kills the Celtics and Boston has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SF. With Jae Crowder banged up, James could be set to carry his team tonight making him one of the best expensive options tonight at any position. ∗∗∗
Kawhi Leonard-San Antonio Spurs (7,800): Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge both had big games against the Pelicans on Wednesday with Leonard scoring 26 points which was his best total since mid-December. Kawhi had a quiet January which has caused his price to drop and make him an affordable play despite his ability to go off tonight as the Spurs play the Mavericks in Dallas. Leonard has averaged 20.5 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals against the Mavs this season, and I think he’ll have a good game as he starts to pick things back up as we get ready for the second half of the season. Enjoy his discounted rate while you can. ∗∗
Gordon Hayward-Utah Jazz (7,400): Hayward came back to earth a bit on Wednesday with just 25.5 fantasy points on 16 points, five assists, and two rebounds. Before that game, though, he had posted at least 36 fantasy points in six of his last seven. He and the Jazz will host the Bucks as the continue their long homestand tonight, and since Milwaukee allows the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing SF Hayward should bounce back with a good game tonight. Hayward has typically been better at home this season where he is averaging 21.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals. ∗∗∗∗
Robert Covington-Philadelphia 76ers (6,200): C0vington has been playing a pretty large role in the Sixers offense lately although he only played 21 minutes on Wednesday after missing practice due to illness. Hopefully he’s feeling better for tonight’s matchup against the Wizards who allow the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SF. Covington had posted at least 20 fantasy points in each of his nine previous games to Wedensday’s sub-par performance, and hd had three games during that span with at least 34 fantasy points. He should be able to take advantage of a good matchup tonight and has a high ceiling even though he is riskier than some other more steady producers on this list. ∗∗∗∗
