High Salary W

Patrick Kane-Chicago Blackhawks ($8,700): As long as Kane keeps producing, you’re going to have to find creative ways to fit his high salary into your lineup. He leads the league in goals (32), assists (44) and points (76), and enters tonight’s game with a two-game point streak. Kane is the absolute best winger available. It’s tough to eat up so much cap space with one person, but he continues to prove that you can’t afford not to use him in your lineup.

Taylor Hall-Edmonton Oilers ($7,000): Hall notched another assist on Thursday night and extended his point streak to seven games. He’s been on a tear lately and will have an excellent opportunity to keep things rolling today in a matchup with Montreal. The Canadiens have not been playing well lately and Hall could be in for a big day. He’s averaging 4.5 fantasy points a game and is as good of a choice as anyone right now.

Patrick Hornqvist-Pittsburgh Penguins ($6,700): Hornqvist doesn’t have great overall numbers this season, 11 goals and 18 assists, but he’s played very well lately. He had a big game Friday night, registering a goal and an assist. He now has a three-game point streak and 13 points over the last 10 games. Hornqvist is cheaper than the other high salary wingers, but his average of 3.4 fantasy points a game and the fact that he’s hot right now makes him a very intriguing option.

High Value W

Andre Burakovsky-Washington Capitals ($4,200): Overlooked for much of the season, Burakovsky has firmly entrenched himself as a top fantasy target at winger. He scored another goal in Thursday’s game and will take a four-game goal streak into today. He has a five-game point streak and 11 points in his last eight games. He doesn’t seem to be slowing down  anytime soon and continues to be a must-start in all fantasy formats. Washington was already the best team in the league, now, Burakovsky makes the Capitals even better. This one is a no-brainer for today.

Justin Abdelkader-Detroit Red Wings ($4,700): Abdlekader isn’t usually a popular fantasy pick, but goes through stretches where he can put up some good numbers. He dished out two helpers on Thursday night and has recorded four points in the last five games. He’s been good to fantasy owners lately, averaging 3.2 fantasy points in the last five contests. A decent matchup with the Islanders today makes him a good winger to target in the early games.

Reilly Smith-Florida Panthers ($4,800): Smith notched two assists on Thursday and now has a six-game point streak going. He’s Played extremely well over the last few weeks, putting up 10 points in the last 11 games. He’s definitely a player to target tonight on a day where there are countless options. Take Smith and hope that others overlook him.

Nilolaj Ehlers-Winnipeg Jets ($4,400): Ehlers has been a popular value pick lately, and it’s been for good reason. He picked up another assist on Tuesday and now has points in five-straight games. With nine points in the last eight games, Ehlers is officially on fire. He’s been up and down this season, but when he’s been up, he’s even very useful for fantasy lineups. Continue using him until this current hot streak comes to an end. Tonight’s matchup in Colorado looks to be a good one for Ehlers, as the Avalanche are ranked 25th against opposing right wingers.
