High Salary Goalie

Tuukka Rask-Boston Bruins ($8,200): Rask has been inconsistent this year but makes for a good play when the matchup is right. Tonight constitutes a good matchup for Rask. He gets a home game with Buffalo, a team he beat on the road Thursday night. The Sabres are 28th in the NHL in goals scored per game and Rask will bring good momentum into this game. He makes for a a good target at goalie tonight.

Braden Holtby-Washington Capitals ($8,400): Holtby picked up a win on Thursday night by stopping 26 of the 28 shots he faced against the Islanders. He leads the NHL with 31 wins and has posted a very strong 2.10 GAA this season. Holtby has been a huge part of Washington’s success and is consistently one of the best net minders available in fantasy hockey. He has just three losses in his last 12 starts, with only one of the losses coming in regulation. The matchup today is a good one for Holtby, as the Devils are 29th in the league with an average of 2.3 goals per game. Feel confident in rolling with Holtby as your fantasy goalie today.

High Value Goalie

Steve Mason-Philadelphia Flyers ($7,400): Mason will carry a two-game win streak into today’s rivalry game with the Rangers. It’s a tall task for Mason, but he played well against New York on January 16. Despite taking a shootout loss, he stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced. Philadelphia has been playing much better lately and has a record of 6-3-1 in the last 10 games. Mason could be a nice surprise for fantasy owners today. If you’re looking to take a chance at the goalie position, then Mason is the choice for you.

Martin Jones-San Jose Sharks ($7,300): Jones has struggled at times this year but overall has fared well as San Jose’s main goalie. He has recorded 24 wins and has been playing extremely well lately with eight wins in his last 10 starts. He’s coming off a very strong performance on Thursday when he stopped 26 of 27 shots in an impressive win over St. Louis. Tonight he’ll get a Nashville team that isn’t a huge threat to score the puck.
