With only three games on the schedule and very few choices to pick from, there won’t be a separation of high salary and high value goalies for today’s picks. Instead, the three best options in net for today are highlighted.

Philipp Grubauer-Washington Capitals ($7,000): Head coach Barry Trotz hasn’t confirmed a starter yet for today’s home game with Philadelphia, but it’s likely that he’ll choose to sit Braden Holtby after Saturday’s shootout win in New Jersey. If that’s the case, then backup netminder Philipp Grubauer makes a fine choice for your fantasy goalie today. He did struggle in his last game on Tuesday night, but he’s performed well for the most part while spelling Holtby this season. He gets the advantage of the home building as well as a favorable matchup with a Philadelphia team that struggles to score goals at times.

Cam Talbot- Edmonton Oilers ($7,200): Talbot was yanked after two periods on Saturday for allowing four goals on 23 shots in the loss to Montreal. While it was a bad outing, he had won his previous two starts. It’s very possible that Talbot will get a chance to redeem himself today against the Islanders since he didn’t play a full game in his last outing. He’s certainly not the best option on most nights, but on a day with limited choices, he could be worth taking a chance on.

Mike Condon-Montreal Canadiens ($7,300): Condon has really struggled since taking over the top netminder job in Montreal when Carey Price went down with an injury. It seems like ages ago that Montreal was actually the best team in the Eastern Conference. The team as a whole has struggled in front of Condon. However, struggles aside, he’s a sneaky play today, as most people will shy away from a goalie that only has one win in his last five starts. The matchup with Carolina looks like a good one on paper and the Canadiens just put up five goals on Saturday, so there is some firepower on the roster.
