44.
The Atlanta Falcons have been a mess at the linebacker position for a few years now, and the organization would be wise to address that issue in this year’s draft. To be fair, the Falcons could go a number of ways (defensive line, wide receiver, etc.) with this pick, but linebacker is the most popular choice for a reason, and Reggie Ragland fits the bill in a big way.

Some have argued that Ragland’s lack of pure and explosive speed will limit his NFL upside, but there is something to be said for being rock solid and making every play available. That is Ragland. The Falcons have lacked consistency at the position, and the 250-pound Ragland would be an immediate fit at middle linebacker with the potential ability to move outside at times. The question marks surrounding Ragland’s long-term coverage ability are slightly overblown, and even if a player like Myles Jack or Jaylon Smith might be a better pure “fit” here, both are unavailable in this mock.

Reggie Ragland is one of the safest picks in this draft, and it is hard to envision a scenario in which he “busts”. That is big for the Falcons, who really need stability, and that makes this a strong marriage.
. LB. Alabama. Reggie Ragland. 17. player
