The Vikings would be wise to invest in the offensive line at some point in the (very) near future, but I’m not in love with any of the available options. Minnesota also has another need, though, and that comes in the way of an athletic and impactful linebacker and that is Darron Lee.

Lee was a terror to the opposition during his time at Ohio State and that allowed him to declare early. At 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds, he isn’t the biggest linebacker in NFL terms, and that has caused some to doubt Lee as a run-stuffer in the early portion of his career. However, he is incredibly athletic and fast for the position, and that should help to ease the burden in the early going.

Minnesota has a number of somewhat minor holes on the roster (wide receiver, in addition to offensive line as previously mentioned), but snatching a high-upside linebacker would be a quick way to improve vastly if Lee pans out. The Vikings are in that grey area between “young and upcoming” and “real contender”, and the more talent they can add the better. Lee is more than worthy of the 23rd overall pick in this particular draft.
. LB. Ohio State. Darron Lee. 23. player. 60
