Ohio State. Joey Bosa. 3. player. 13.
I think Joey Bosa is the best player in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Defensive end isn’t the biggest need (or anywhere close) for the San Diego Chargers right now, but grabbing the top overall player with the third overall pick isn’t something that can be criticized. Many people have projected San Diego to grab an offensive tackle, but with Tunsil off the board in this scenario, there isn’t a player that I can justify taking ahead of Bosa and his considerable pedigree.

As a pure pass-rusher, Bosa is a monster, racking up more than 50 tackles for loss over a three-year college career, and he was consistently ranked as the best defensive lineman in the country by Pro Football Focus. Pure sack numbers are always overrated, but Bosa is capable of basically blowing up the opposing team’s protection schemes, which is something that is invaluable to an NFL squad.

In addition, Bosa is a very capable run defender with quality size (6-foot-5, 275 pounds) and the Chargers can’t go wrong with this selection. It will be interesting to see if San Diego would consider moving out of this pick to acquire additional assets to fill their considerable amount of needs, but staying put means taking Bosa and profiting from his NFL success.
.
