Ronnie Stanley. 6. player. 26.
The Ravens would absolutely love to get their hands on Jalen Ramsey at this spot, and Ozzie Newsome will be praying that the gifted Florida State defensive back slips. However, without a clearly elite defensive back on the board, acquiring Ronnie Stanley is a nice consolation prize.

Stanley is a step down from Laremy Tunsil at the offensive tackle position, but he profiles as a true left tackle prospect at 6-foot-6 and 315 pounds. His strength as a college player was in pass protection, which would be very nice in keeping the recently injured Joe Flacco upright, and Stanley possesses the brute force necessary to be an adequate or better player in the running game as well.

In truth, I don’t love this pick for the Ravens given that their offensive line actually performed reasonably well in pass protection this year, but having a “left tackle of the future” is never a bad thing. It would be possible that Baltimore could reach for a cornerback at this spot (Vernon Hargreaves III?) if the Ravens really feel as if they must fill a need, but Ronnie Stanley is a better player and prospect than any corner available if Ramsey is gone.
.
