High Salary C

Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (7,000): Whiteside has been playing very limited minutes since returning from an oblique injury, but he’s been extremely productive in his limited time on the floor.  In fact, he only needed 17 minutes to post a ten-point, ten-rebound double-double in his last game against the Clippers.  Whiteside had a triple-double by adding ten blocks the game before in 27 minutes against the Hornets.  He not only has the oblique issue to worry about, but he also missed yesterday’s practice with an ankle injury. However, coach Erik Spoelstra said he “could play big minutes” tonight against the Spurs.  If he does get close to 30 minutes, Whiteside will end up as a great value at just 7K, but there is substantial risk in rolling with him as well since he will come off the bench and is still dealing with those injuries.

Marcin Gortat-Washington Wizards (6,900): Gortat has posted back-to-back double-doubles finishing with over 33 fantasy points in each of his last two and three of his last five.  He will battle down low against Robin Lopez tonight in NYC, but he only managed nine points and five rebounds the first time these teams met this season. Given his recent production, he’s still an option to look at, but Lopez’s solid play of late is a cause for concern if you are looking to invest in the Polish Hammer.

Rudy Gobert-Utah Jazz (6,600): Gobert has been excellent since getting back to 100% after a knee injury. His presence in the middle has been another reason for the Jazz recent run. In his last five games, Gobert is averaging 14 points, 10 boards, two blocks, and two steals. He has at least 37 fantasy points in four of those five contests and is coming off of 42.5 fantasy points against the Bucks and 43.75 fantasy points against the Suns. He should be able to continue his run of success even on the road against Dirk,  Zaza Pachulia, and the Mavs. ∗∗
