High Value PF

Amir Johnson-Boston Celtics (4,600):  While there are some great options over 6K, the PF pickings are pretty slim once you dive into the value pool.  Johnson has shown he has potential to put up great numbers at times, but his value fluctuates based on his playing time in the Boston rotation. Lately, he has been getting only a few minutes lately playing less than 22 minutes in each of his last four games.  He has been good while on the floor, though, and posted 28.25 fantasy points on Sunday with nine rebounds, four assists, and eight points in just 19 minutes.  He has the potential to go off tonight against Milwaukee who allows the fourth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PF and won’t have their best rim-protector due to the injury to John Henson. If Johnson sees extended run tonight, he’s set up for a monster game, but his unsure playing time makes him high risk.

David West-San Antonio Spurs (4,300): West should draw another start for the Spurs, and he has had some nice games lately despite being a bit hit-or-miss.  In his last three games he has two with over 29 fantasy points.  He had 29.5 fantasy points against the Lakers on Saturday on a balanced six points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three blocks which was almost exactly the same line he had against New Orleans on Wednesday but with more scoring and a few less rebounds.  Unfortunately, West is risky since his other games around those two nice stat lines have been pretty bad. He’s high-risk, high-reward tonight, but I do think he’ll have to play substantial minutes against Bosh/Whiteside which should at least give him the opportunity to produce.
