High Salary D

P.K. Subban-Montreal Canadiens ($6,300): Subban extended his point streak to six games with an assist in Sunday’s contest with Carolina. He is playing as well as anyone right now with 16 points over the last 15 games. He’s not a big threat to find the back of the net, but his 37 assists this season prove that he is fantastic at setting up his teammates. Feel confident rolling with Subban as one of your defensemen tonight.

Mark Giordano-Calgary Flames ($6,800): Giordano has cooled off the last two games but still has seven points in the last eight games. He’s been really hot since the end of December and has become a very popular fantasy target thanks to his production. He’s a must-start in tonight’s situation thanks to Toronto being ranked as the worst team in the league at allowing points to opposing defensemen. Take Giordano as one of your high salary picks at defenseman this evening.

High Value D

Marc-Edouard Vlasic ($5,000): Vlasic extended his assist streak to four games on Saturday and is once again heating up. The San Jose blueliner often gets overshadowed by his teammate Brent Burns, but he’s a very valuable player for fantasy lineups. He goes through hot and cold stretches and is clearly hot right now, therefore, he needs to be in your lineup.

Alec Martinez-LA Kings ($4,600): Martinez notched a goal in his last game on Thursday night and enters tonight’s contest with a two-game goal streak. He had gone five games without a point, so it’s nice to see Martinez get things going again. He’s not the most reliable source of production, but has proven to be very useful at times. In regards to fantasy hockey, he has a good price and an average of nearly three fantasy points a game. A favorable matchup with Boston awaits him tonight, making Martinez a sneaky play at defenseman.
