High Salary Goalie

Ben Bishop-Tampa Bay Lightning ($7,700): Tampa Bay has confirmed that Ben Bishop will be between the pipes on Tuesday after sitting on Monday night in favor of Andrei Vasilevskiy. Bishop has been playing some great hockey lately with six wins in his last seven starts. Shooting pucks at Bishop tonight will be the Montreal Canadiens, a team that’s been really struggling. His price is a bit high for a goalie that can be inconsistent at times, but the tho streak, paired with the matchup tonight, makes him a good must-start candidate.

Braden Holtby-Washington Capitals ($8,500): It’s no surprise to find Braden Holtby on this list, as he is absolutely one of the best goalie options available night in and night out. He started on Sunday and stopped 33 out of 35 shots in a  win over Philadelphia. He moved his season record to 33-5-3 and has an impressive 2.10 GAA. There’s a chance that head coach Barry Trotz decided to rest Holtby against a low-scoring Nashville team tonight, but for now, consider Holtby a top target for your goalie tonight.

High Value Goalie

Jonas Hiller-Calgary Flames ($6,700): Hiller is the confirmed starter in net for the Flames on Tuesday when they host struggling Toronto. Hiller got the start in Calgary’s last game on Saturday and turned in a marvelous performance, stopping 34 of the 35 shots in faced in a victory over Vancouver. Hiller is far from a must-start on most occasions, but when you take into account the masterful performance on Saturday and the fact that the Maple Leafs are banged up and not playing very well, he looks like a very attractive option on a night where some of the top goalie targets will be in action.

Frederik Andersen-Anaheim Ducks ($7,300): Andersen was on this list as a high value target for Monday but ended up sitting the bench in favor of John Gibson against the Penguins. However, Gibson allowed six goals and Andersen appeared in the game, stopping all four shots he faced. Now, on the second night of a back-to-back, it’s Andersen who should be named the starter for tonight’s tilt in Philadelphia. The Flyers struggle to score and Andersen has three straight wins, making him a very intriguing goalie option.
