High Salary PF

DeMarcus Cousins-Sacramento Kings (11,100): “Boogie” and the Kings are taking on the Sixers tonight in Philadelphia, and he should make a good play tonight if he gets back to his full complement of minutes. He only played 29 minutes on Monday on the second night of a back-to-back in Cleveland. No team in the NBA has allowed more fantasy points to opposing centers this season than the 76ers, and they haven’t gotten any better lately as they try to mix and match their promising young big men.  Cousins  had a great run to start January, but injury and some bad matchups have slowed him down a little bit lately.  In a game the Kings need tonight, I think he’s the best superstar play on the board tonight and has a good chance to go for over 55 fantasy points against the weak 76ers interior defense.

Paul Millsap-Atlanta Hawks (8,000): Millsap could be one of the most important players moved at the NBA trade deadline, but he doesn’t produce typical fantasy points like most PF options.  He had a huge game against the Magic on Monday with 22 points, 13 boards, six assists, and four steals on his way to 57.25 fantasy points. He has at least 35 fantasy points in each of his last three games, and he should be able to produce a good game again tonight against the Bulls who have struggled against opposing big men. When Millsap faced the Bulls earlier this season, he finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a season-high six blocks.

LaMarcus Aldridge-San Antonio Spurs (7,100): Aldridge has been excellent for the Spurs over the last two weeks, and has at least 38 fantasy points in six of his last seven games. He had 28 points last night in Miami with four rebounds and four assists to total 41 fantasy points in just 32 minutes.  LA had 18 points against the Magic last week as well totaling 42.5 fantasy points since he added five blocks and four rebounds against Orlando.  I think Orlando will keep tonight’s game close enough to keep Aldridge involved for most of the contest tonight.

Thaddeus Young-Brooklyn Nets (6,900):  Young has rediscovered his double-double form from earlier this season and has rolled off six games of at least 33 fantasy points in his last seven including over 38 fantasy points in each of his last three. He is in another great matchup tonight since the Grizzlies just lost Marc Gasol and don’t have much size except for Zach Randolph. Since Randolph will probably have to try and slow down Brook Lopez, look for Young to exploit Jeff Green, Matt Barnes, or whoever else the Grizzlies have to try and use to slow him down.

Zach Randolph-Memphis Grizzlies (6,500): Randolph will be one of the most owned players in DFS tonight, and he’s another great PF play in the middle of the salary structure. The reason Z-Bo is such an attractive play is that he’ll need to be ready to step into a much bigger role with the long-term injury to Marc Gasol.  Z-Bo played 40 minutes against his former team the Blazers on Monday and finished with  26 points, nine boards, and four assists for an impressive 42.75 fantasy points. He has at least 38 fantasy points in three of his last four games, and he’ll be in a A+ matchup tonight against a Nets team that has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing centers which is where Randolph will likely slide to in the near future while Gasol is out.

Markieff Morris-Phoenix Suns (6,500): Morris is another player who has been playing a bigger role for his team recently, but his move back into the starting lineup and renewed effort has everything to do with the Suns coaching change.  Morris has played four games for interim head coach Earl Watson and has three games with over 39 fantasy points in those contests.  He’s in a tough matchup at home tonight against the Warriors, but he has huge upside since he has become the focus of the Suns attack and can be a multi-category producer when he’s giving maximum effort which he seems to be doing lately.

Julius Randle-Los Angeles Lakers (6,400): Randle has been one of the very few bright spots in the Lakers’ dismal first half of the season.  He has been excellent since being re-inserted into the starting lineup due to injury to Larry Nance Jr. Randle has turned in five double-doubles in his last six games and is coming off a monster 15 points and 19 rebounds against the Pacers on Monday.  In that game, Randle finished with 42.75 fantasy points and he has at least 42 fantasy points in three of his last six.  Randle has put up big games against some pretty good competition, so taking on the Cavs tonight shouldn’t be a reason to stay away from the Lakers emerging PF.
