High Salary Defensemen

Dustin Byfuglien – Winnipeg Jets ($7,300): Byfuglien is your best fantasy option on the blue line tonight. He has 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points to go along with 78 penalty minutes and 165 shots on goal in 53 games this season. Dustin has six goals and four assists for ten points over his last ten games. Over his last five games, he has 18 penalty minutes and 14 shots on goal. The Jets defenseman averages 3.4 fantasy hockey points per game.

John Klingberg – Dallas Stars ($6,000): The Stars defenseman has awoken from his slumber. Klingberg has nine goals and 35 assists for 44 points in 54 games this season with 117 shots on goal. He has at least one point in five of his last seven games with three goals and three assists during that span. John goes tonight against the Blackhawks and he averages 3.2 fantasy hockey points per game.

Drew Doughty – Los Angeles Kings ($6,400): Doughty now has 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points this season with 126 shots on goal. He currently has a five game point streak with three goals and four assists for seven points during that span and he also has at least one point in six of his last eight games. Drew goes tonight against the Islanders. The Kings defenseman averages 3.1 fantasy hockey points per game.

High Value Defensemen

Shayne Gostisbehere – Philadephia Flyers ($5,100): Gostisbehere is finally seeing an increase in his FanDuel salary. It’s about time because the Ghost Bear has been one of the best defensemen in the NHL this season. The Ghost Bear has nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points in 34 games this season. He currently has the longest point streak in the league at nine games. Look for Shayne to build on that tonight against the Sabres. The Flyers defenseman averages 3.3 fantasy points per game.

Tyson Barrie – Colorado Avalanche ($4,100): Barrie has been held pointless in each of his last four games but he is facing a favorable matchup tonight against the Ottawa Senators. Ottawa has allowed a ton of fantasy points to blue liners this season. Barrie has eight goals and 25 assists for 33 points in 52 games this season. He averages 2.4 fantasy hockey points per game.
