High Salary Goalies

Petr Mrazek – Detroit Red Wings ($9,500): Mrazek has a darn good case for the Vezina Trophy this season. It will be quite tough to overcome Braden Holtby’s resume (especially his likely outrageous number of wins) but Mrazek has posted better underlying numbers than the Caps netminder. He has a .934 save percentage this season and has a save percentage of just under .950 over his last ten games. The Red Wings goalie goes tonight against the Avalanche while averaging 5.3 fantasy hockey points per game.

Marc-Andre Fleury – Pittsburgh Penguins ($9,000): Fleury has been a classic example of Jekkyl and Hyde this season. When he has been on his game, few have been better than him. However, when he’s been cold he’s been downright terrible. There hasn’t been too much middle ground this season. Fleury goes tonight against the Hurricanes who he has had success against in his career. The Penguins goalie is averaging 4.9 fantasy hockey points per game.

High Value Goalies

Ben Scrivens – Montreal Canadiens ($7,500): Scrivens has been great lately for Montreal. The Habs have needed solid goaltending with Carey Price out. Nobody figured that it would be provided by Scrivens, but he has certainly provided it as of late. In each of his last three games (all of them wins), he has a save percentage of at least .949. Could Scrivens be this year’s Andrew Hammond? The Canadiens goalie goes against the struggling Sabres tonight while averaging 4.2 fantasy hockey points per game.

Jonas Hiller – Calgary Flames ($7,200): Hiller has a chance to prove himself tonight against the Coyotes. He will likely start after Karri Ramo got injured in last night’s 6-5 shootout win over the San Jose Sharks. The Coyotes have been struggling as of late with just two wins in their last ten games. Hiller goes against them tonight. He averages 3.4 fantasy hockey points per game.
