High Salary Wings

Alex Ovechkin – Washington Capitals ($8,900): The league’s best goal scorer is on a mission this season to lead the Capitals to a Stanley Cup. Lately, it hasn’t mattered who has been in his way. The Russian Machine has destroyed everything. He has eight goals and an assist for nine points with 28 hits and 50 shots on goal over his last ten games. Ovechkin is a wonderful fantasy option even on the road against the Stars. He leads the league in goals with 34 and averages 5.4 fantasy hockey points per game.

Brad Marchand – Boston Bruins ($6,600): As great as Ovechkin has been over his last ten games, Marchand has been even better. Marchand has 10 goals and 12 points over his last 10 games with 39 shots on goal while averaging 5.5 fantasy hockey points per game. Look for Marchand to do well against the struggling Wild. Brad does well because he gets points in a variety of manners. Scoring, blocking shots, hitting, penalty minutes, he does it all. He has 26 goals and 40 points on the season.

Wayne Simmonds – Philadelphia Flyers ($6,600): Simmonds is an underrated DraftKings option who justifies his kind of hefty price tag. He has reached triple digits in three prime categories (hits, shots on goal, and penalty minutes) while also adding 20 goals and 36 points in 53 games. That leads to an average of 3.3 fantasy hockey points per game. Over his last ten games, he has averaged 5.3 with 11 points, 40 shots on goal, 24 penalty minutes, and 34 hits.

High Value Wings

Benoit Pouliot – Edmonton Oilers ($4,800): Perhaps nobody has benefitted more from the return of McDavid than Pouliot. Benoit has 12 points in his last ten games. 10 of those points have come in his last six games (which is when McDavid returned). Coincidence? Nope. He also has 18 shots on goal over his last ten games. Pouliot is a solid option against the Jets who struggle against wings. He averages 2.7 fantasy hockey points per game.

Cam Atkinson – Columbus Blue Jackets ($4,700): Atkinson has five goals and four assists for nine points with 37 shots on goal while averaging 4.7 fantasy hockey points per game over his last ten games. Cam has 18 goals and 17 assists for 35 points this season. He will go tonight against the Senators who have struggled against wings this season.
