DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup February 13th
High Salary Defensemen
Dustin Byfuglien – Winnipeg Jets ($6,500): Much like Wayne Simmonds, Byfuglien gets you fantasy hockey points in a variety of manners. He can score, get penalty minutes, hit people, and block shots. What more could you ask for? Over his last ten games, he has five goals and six assists for 11 points to go along with 20 penalty minutes, 29 hits, and 28 shots on goal. He has averaged 4.5 fantasy hockey points per game during that span. Byfuglien is a great start against the Edmonton Oilers.
Erik Karlsson – Ottawa Senators ($7,700): Karlsson is by a significant margin the most productive blue liner in the NHL. He is currently the league leader in assists (51) and is tied for second in points (63). Any way you look at it, that’s incredible. Over his past ten games, he has two goals and 10 assists for 12 points with 35 shots on goal while averaging 5.1 fantasy hockey points per game. Can he keep up that pace? Considering he’s averaging 4.8 fantasy points per game this season, yeah it is.
John Klingberg – Dallas Stars ($6,300): Klingberg is a bit of a risky start going against the Washington Capitals. However, Klingberg has been extremely good as of late so he’s worth the risk. He has averaged four fantasy hockey points per game over his last ten games with 32 shots on goal, eight points (four goals and four assists), and eight blocked shots.
High Value Defensemen
Shayne Gostisbehere – Philadelphia Flyers ($5,400): Gostisbehere is quickly approaching the end of the value price tag so enjoy him while you can. Shayne is having a phenomenal rookie season. He owns a ten game point streak with two goals and 11 assists for 13 points in his last ten games to go along with 26 shots on goal. The Ghost Bear takes on the New Jersey Devils at home where he has 17 points in 17 games. He averages 3.4 fantasy points per game and has 29 points in 35 games this season.
Marc-Edouard Vlasic – San Jose Sharks ($5,000): Marc-Edouard “The Pickle” Vlasic has seven goals and 23 assists for 30 points this season with 103 blocked shots in 50 games while averaging 3.2 fantasy hockey points per game. He has averaged 3.5 fantasy points over his last ten games with 18 shots on goal, seven assists, and 23 blocked shots. Vlasic goes tonight against the Coyotes.
