2. Restoring The Knicks To Glory

New York is a massive sports town. In the five boroughs we love our baseball, we love our football and we are even starting to really enjoy our soccer as well. But at the end of the day, New York is a basketball town. Always has been, and always will be. The fact that the Knicks have been god-awful for so many decades is a travesty. The Larry O’Brien trophy hasn’t been hoisted in the garden since Phil Jackson was running around in short shorts.

Since the 2000-2001 season the Knicks have finished with an above .500 record only a pathetic five times. That’s just absolutely deplorable. It is an utter crime that a franchise as storied and beloved as the New York Knicks have been this putrid for so long. With the acquisition of Kevin Durant the Knicks would be able to turn back the clock to when the Garden was rocking with the likes of Clyde Frazier, Bernard King and Patrick Ewing.

New York Deserves a great basketball team again, and Durant can be the catalyst for this success. Bringing glory back to the Garden has to be one of the loftiest dreams in all of sports. What New Yorkers would give to see meaningful games played in April and May. Durant could be the fire that awakens one of the NBA’s greatest sleeping giants.
