High Salary Defensemen

John Klingberg – Dallas Stars ($6,300): Klingberg had a fast start to the season but then had a bit of a cold spell. He’s hot again as he has four goals and five assists for nine points with 32 shots on goal over his last ten games, averaging 4.3 fantasy points per game over that span. John has 47 points in 56 games and goes tonight against the Predators on the road, where he has a plus-minus rating of +15 this season.

P.K. Subban – Montreal Canadiens ($6,300): Subban remains hot with points in nine of his last ten games for the Montreal Canadiens. He has 12 points (three goals with nine assists), 22 shots on goal, 10 hits, eight blocked shots, and 18 penalty minutes during his last ten games for an average of 4.2 fantasy hockey points per game during that span.

Duncan Keith – Chicago Blackhawks ($6,100): Keith has just four points over his last ten games with 22 shots on goal and 19 blocked shots. However, he faces a very favorable matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight, as the Leafs are last in the league against defensemen. Keith should be a huge part of what the Blackhawks do against Toronto. He has 34 points in 49 games while averaging 3.4 fantasy points per game.

High Value Defensemen

T.J. Brodie – Calgary Flames ($4,600): Brodie has been carrying the Flames as of late with nine assists and a plus-minus rating of +11 over his last ten games. He also has 11 shots on goal and 11 blocked shots during that span. Brodie goes today against the Ducks while averaging 2.8 fantasy hockey points per game.

Mattias Ekholm – Nashville Predators ($3,900): Ekholm is a relative unknown on the Predators blue line. He is a very important producer for them with 25 points in 56 games. Eight of those 25 points have come over his last ten games. He also has 10 blocked shots and 13 shots on goal during that time. The Predators defenseman is averaging 2.2 fantasy points per game.
