1. Sacramento Kings

If there’s a trade to be made for Iman Shumpert, it’s with the Sacramento Kings. After the team decided to keep George Karl as head coach, their attention focused to strengthening the team defensively. It’s also been rumored that the Cavaliers are interested in center Kosta Koufos and guard Ben McLemore.

The easiest deal to do is Koufos and McLemore to Cleveland for Shumpert. The Cavaliers might have to get another team involved to help send some draft picks if Sacramento wants them, but Shumpert is a player that would fit well with the Kings.

He’s a good defender and would automatically upgrade the team’s defense in the back court. If the Kings are serious about taking a next step around DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo, they need to go out and get players with experience that are good defensively.

It just so happens that Shumpert is one of those players and he’s also just 25 years old. That would be a coup for the Kings to acquire him as they continue to build a tough, defensive team. The Cavaliers do it because they get more depth up front and a young player with a shot of turning it around like McLemore.

This should be the team the Cavaliers talk to first in a deal revolving around Shumpert.
