Not even head coach Jason Kidd can seem to fix Milwaukee Bucks starting point guard Michael Carter-Williams’ broken jumper. The former NBA Rookie of the Year with the Philadelphia 76ers is a good defensive player because of his length, but has become a liability offensively for this young Bucks team that has rapidly declined since his arrival last NBA Trade Deadline.

One intriguing solution to the Bucks’ problems would be to bring in former No. 2 draft pick of the 2013 NBA Draft Victor Oladipo of the Orlando Magic in a trade and have him start at the point. Sure, Oladipo isn’t a typical starting NBA point guard, but he’s a bit more like what Jason Kidd was at that age than is Carter-Williams.

There are plenty of pieces the Magic could ask about from Milwaukee, but the Bucks aren’t going to let the Magic get the upper hand in this trade. It’s not all that long ago that the Magic traded an expiring J.J. Redick contract to the Bucks for young-up-and-comer Tobias Harris. Harris is the go-to scorer for the Magic out on the wing three years later and Redick is now playing the best basketball of his NBA career for the Los Angeles Clippers.

With Milwaukee as the third-worst team in the Eastern Conference this season after making the NBA Playoffs the year before as the No. 6 seed, it is clear that Carter-Williams is not the answer at point guard for the Bucks.

Will Orlando take him in a deal for Oladipo remains a huge question entering this NBA trade deadline. Milwaukee could offer the Magic more than Carter-Williams for Oladipo if need be. It’s really up to Kidd if he thinks that Oladipo can be what the Bucks need at the point running their offense going forward.
