Though the club has made no statement on the matter, it has not stopped the rumor mills from running rampant on the potential change. As the days tick by, many papers are already reporting that Jose Mourinho is very close to signing a pre-contract to take over as the Red Devils manager this summer.

However, one issue that could stop this potential blockbuster marriage is the club’s current manager, Louis van Gaal. The former Dutch manager has stated on many occasions his plans for next season, dismissing the notion that Manchester United management has been in touch with the “Special One.”
