Inter Milan

While maybe not the most prestigious post in the world right now, a return to Inter Milan could be just what Jose Mourinho needs. With the club currently 11-points adrift of league leaders Napoli, Inter Milan’s dream of a return to its former glory is quickly fading.

The club has allowed three goals in three of its last four matches and has only won twice in it’s last 11-matches. The poor results have led to a rise in pressure on current manager Roberto Mancini, with speculation about his future at the helm beginning to heat up ever since the club’s 3-0 loss against rivals AC Milan.

With such high speculation, could it be possible for the club to sign Mourinho? It is a higher probability than many would think. Since Mourinho left the club for Real Madrid in the summer of 2010, Inter has failed to win any major title with the only pieces of silverware coming in 2010 when the club won the Club World Cup and Coppa Italia.

In fact, Inter Milan have only finished in the top four of the Seria A table twice since his departure. With the club failing to replicate its former glory and its current standing in the international community beginning to fall, the time could be now for Jose Mourinho to return to the site of his second UEFA Champions League win.

However, seeing how far the side currently sits behind the Seria A front runners in terms of quality would present a major challenge to any manager. Jose Mourinho’s willingness to spend one-to-two seasons rebuilding a club with very little chance of competing for either the league or Champions League title could be something that derails this potential return.
