Jiangsu Suning

A club that many have little to no knowledge about and one that nobody knew existed until this past January. The Chinese Super League side pulled off some of the most improbable signings in recent memory, splashing the cash to sign Liverpool target Alex Teixeira and former Chelsea player Ramires. Both moves came as a major shock to the football world. However, could this club that nobody knew existed until just over a week ago do the impossible and sign Jose Mourinho?

Probably not, but it is not as impossible as it seemed at the start of January. However, with the Chinese club having already proven that it is ready to throw large sums of money around, whose to say that they won’t offer Jose Mourinho a contract he can’t turn down.

Looking at the Chinese Market, it is one of the fastest growing soccer markets in the world and is one of FIFA’s top targets for a World Cup. Being on the forefront of this move towards China as well as cashing in on the opportunity to be one the biggest name in China’s Super League could be too much of an opportunity for the “Special One” to turn down.

Even though managing in China would do nothing for Mourinho’s resume, the amount he would be payed as well as the endorsement deals he would definitely be offered in China would likely pay him more in a single season than many people make in their entire lives. If Jiangsu Suning or another Chinese club can come up with enough money to offer a record breaking deal, it is entirely possible that Jose Mourinho could find himself managing in China next season.
