According to a report, any Orlando Magic deal involving guard Victor Oladipo would be surprising.

The NBA Trade Deadline is drawing near and all eyes are on the Orlando Magic. The Magic are under enormous pressure to make the playoffs soon and could be looking to fill out the roster with veteran additions to Scott Skiles’ team.

The Magic made a move Tuesday afternoon, when they sent forward Tobias Harris to the Detroit Pistons, in return for Brandon Jennings and Ersan Ilyasova. While the Magic made their first trade of the deadline bringing in veteran players, many expect the team to continue to make more moves as they transition the roster.

One player on the Magic that has been involved in rumors is Victor Oladipo. While it’s surprising to see Oladipo’s name in rumors, his name has been out there in speculation.

It appears that is all that is in regards to Oladipo being traded. According to Orlando Magic beat reporter Josh Robbins, any trade involving Oladipo on Thursday, would be surprising.

This should be no surprise to anyone that watches the Magic. While Oladipo has been steadily improving as a player and is seen by many as a cornerstone piece for the franchise, it hasn’t been as fast as some would like and that has many questioning just how good he will be.

Still, it would seem awfully early for the Magic to trade him. They would certainly only move him in a blockbuster deal, but like many teams with young players, it’s almost better to ride it out and allow Oladipo to continue to grow.
