DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 19
High Value PG
Deron Williams-Dallas Mavericks (5,900): Williams and the Mavericks begin their second half playoff push as they visit Orlando tonight. D-Will has been good when healthy and had a nice run before the break of at least 34 fantasy points in three of his last four full-strength games. He had 23 points, five assists, and two boards against the Jazz in his last game, and he should be set up for success tonight since no team in the NBA allowed more fantasy points to opposing PG over their last five games than Orlando has. ∗∗∗∗
Emmanuel Mudiay-Denver Nuggets (5,800): Mudiay looked really good in the Rising Stars Challenge on All Star weekend, and he’ll return to his role as the Nuggets primary point guard to start the second half in Sacramento. Mudiay had at least 33 fantasy points in three of his last four games before the break as well, and he should keep seeing plenty of playing time for Denver throughout the second half. He has huge upside, and he’s in a good matchup against the defensively-challenged Kings tonight. ∗∗∗
Norris Cole-New Orleans Pelicans (5,600): With Tyreke Evans shut down for the season, Cole will continue to play a big role for New Orleans the rest of the way. He has scored in double-digits in nine of his last ten games and has at least 30 fantasy points in five of his last nine games. He is a boom-or-bust play, but against the 76ers tonight he’s a solid option to consider as he takes on his former backcourt-mate Ishmael Smith. ∗∗
Jeremy Lin-Charlotte Hornets (4,900): The Hornets new acquisition, Courtney Lee, is expected to start at SG going forward, but he will not be available for tonight’s contest after missing yesterday’s practice due to getting the physical to complete the trade. Lin should get a spot start as a result and has posted 36.25, 40.75, 46.25, and 40.25 fantasy points in his last four games in which he has played over 25 minutes. If he gets that much run tonight, he could end up being a great bargain.∗∗∗∗∗
Tony Parker-San Antonio Spurs (4,800): Parker started for the Spurs last night in LA against Chris Paul and the Clippers and should be ready to do the same tonight against the Lakers. No team in the NBA has given up more fantasy points to opposing PG than the Lakers, so if Parker played 28 minutes like he did last night he’ll be a nice 5K value. The risk with Parker is that his playing time is never really certain. ∗∗
Cory Joseph-Toronto Raptors (4,100): If you have to go cheap at one of your PG spots, Joseph is an option that is assured to get enough minutes to make him an option. He played at least 23 minutes in each of his last nine games and had at least 20 fantasy points in seven of those contests. While his ceiling isn’t incredibly high, he does return solid value at his bargain price. ∗∗∗
Cameron Payne-Oklahoma City Thunder (3,600): Another cheap option who has been playing some solid minutes is Cameron Payne of the Thunder who played over 21 minutes in each of his last two games before the break and had at least 14.7 fantasy points in four of his last five games. Payne is earning some playing time alongside Russell Westbrook as well as serving as his primary backup, and I like him as a potentially productive cheap play in the second half of the season. ∗
