DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 20
High Salary C
Karl-Anthony Towns-Minnesota Timberwolves (8,500): Towns was a bit of a disappointment last night even though he managed 11 points and 15 rebounds in 36 minutes against the Grizzlies. He finished with 40.75 fantasy points which is good production, but he’s priced high enough that he needs to do more to return full value. Towns is virtually a double-double lock at this point with at least 11 points and at least ten rebounds in each of his last ten games while usually adding good blocks numbers as well. When he took on Kristaps Porzingis and the Knicks earlier this season, Towns had 25 points and ten boards, and I think he’ll be around that amount of production again tonight with the potential to go off for a monster game as he continues his impressive rookie season.∗∗∗
Hassan Whiteside-Miami Heat (7,200): Whiteside is the ultimate wild card tonight as the Heat face the Wizards. Whiteside was limited by injury but effective before the break and then ejected from what looked like it could have been a breakout game against San Antonio. He was suspended as a result and missed last night’s game against the Hawks, but the Heat could definitely use a big game from him tonight. Whiteside will take on the Wizards tonight presumably without both Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. With an increased offensive role, Whiteside could go off for a huge night, but he’s also a risk for playing limited minutes with limited production. He’s a big and expensive risk to take, but he is also the only player who throws up triple-doubles with blocks and can be counted on for a few swats per night when he gets his normal minutes. ∗∗
