Lineup Notes: I like the two-guard look the most tonight, but if you don’t want to stretch to get Curry and Paul (gambling on Speights) the other option with Whiteside/Millsap has a really nice upside as well. I’ll be using both in double up and tournament play tonight with more invested in the first lineup than the second.
Recent Results: From January 2-February 11, here is how my picks did. My plan is to get these 100% up to date in time for tomorrow’s post, and I’ll separate out February’s picks instead of the “last week” section since so much of the last week didm’t have any games. In this post, I’ve separated out my numbers for the last week before the break so you can see how the numbers are trending since with such a big sample size for the overall, the results don’t move much day-to-day.
All numbers are fantasy points per 1,000 in salary.
5-star picks: last week-5.194 (31 picks) overall-5.032 (152 picks)
4-star picks: last week-4.708 (72 picks) overall-4.811 (329 picks)
3-star picks: last week-5.221 (93 picks) overall-4.936 (459 picks)
2-star picks: last week-4.865 (76 picks) overall-4.753 (346 picks)
1-star picks: last week-3.966 (27 picks) overall-4.171 (117 picks)
Explanation of the stars after each pick: Each one of my picks is ranked for the day on a scale of one to five stars. The more stars that a pick receives represents the more confident I am in that selection. Picks that I give five stars (∗∗∗∗∗) are players that you almost have to own and I have no reservations about owning at their price. Players that get four stars (∗∗∗∗) are players that I think are strong picks to build your roster around. Three-star players (∗∗∗) are middle-of-the-road solid picks who are fairly reliable to produce a good game. Picks receiving two stars (∗∗) are high-risk, high-reward players who do offer enough upside to be in my picks, but also have a significant risk factor that makes them dangerous. One star (∗) players are picks that are the best option around that price point, but who I don’t think are great options. I would take any one-star player over any option not in my picks, but they aren’t picks I would build my roster around.
