High Salary Wings

Alex Ovechkin – Washington Capitals ($9,000): Ovechkin has a tendency to go on streaks where he scores at will. He’s currently in the midst of one of those streaks. He goes tonight against the Devils, a team that he has tormented in his career. The Capitals wing averages 5.5 fantasy hockey points per game (including 6.9 per game over his last 10 games).

Blake Wheeler – Winnipeg Jets ($6,900): Wheeler has quietly had an extremely good year with 54 points (16 goals and 38 assists) and 169 shots on goal in 57 games. Phil Kessel – Pittsburgh Penguins ($6,700): Kessel is an early option as the Lightning and Penguins square off in a 12:30 PM EST matinee. He has been largely disappointing this season (18 goals and 19 assists in 56 games) but he has been heating up as of late. Over his last 10 games, Kessel has four goals and four assists for eight points with 40 shots on goal. Three of those four goals and 14 of those shots on goal have come over his last three games. He averages 3.3 fantasy hockey points per game.

High Value Wings

Andre Burakovsky – Washington Capitals ($4,800): Burakovsky has been lighting it up recently for the Capitals. He has 27 points (12 goals and 15 assists) this season in 53 games. Seven of those goals and 10 of those points have come over his last 10 games. He has added 28 shots on goal during that span as well. Burakovsky has at least one point in eight of his last 10 games and he goes tonight against the Devils. The Capitals wing averages 2.1 fantasy hockey points per game (including 4.3 per game over his last 10 games).

Reilly Smith – Florida Panthers ($4,600): Smith is a great value option tonight going against the Winnipeg Jets. He has 18 goals and 17 assists for 35 points with 116 shots on goal in 58 games this season. Over his last 10 games, he has three goals and six assists for nine points with 12 shots on goal. He averages 2.8 fantasy hockey points per game.

J.T. Brown – Tampa Bay Lightning ($3,300): Looking for a dirt cheap option for today’s action? That would be J.T. Brown, who will play in the 12:30 PM EST matinee. He has 19 points (seven goals and 12 assists) with 60 hits and 98 shots on goal in 53 games this season.
