High Value SG

Rodney Hood-Utah Jazz (5,900): Hood has cooled off a little bit from his torrid pace earlier this month.  He still has over 20 fantasy points in nine of his last ten games, but he has been held under 30 fantasy points in each of his last three contests.  Tonight, though, he’s in a good matchup against the Blazers who he has scored 18 and 19 points against in his last two meetings with. Hood has tons of upside but his recent performances and the fact that this is Utah’s third game in four nights does make him slightly high-risk.

Evan Fournier-Orlando Magic (5,300): Fournier has been playing huge minutes for coach Scott Skiles lately due to the injury to Tobias Harris who was then traded to Detroit.  Fournier has played at least 42 minutes in each of his last four games and has posted at least 27 fantasy points in each of those contests.  Orlando faces the Pacers tonight who are a pretty good defensive team, but since both teams like to play up-tempo I expect some good fantasy points for most players involved. Fournier’s workload and consistency lately make him one of the best plays on the board although he could lose some time down the road to Ersan Ilyasova and Aaron Gordon if the team goes with a bigger option at SF instead of Fournier.

E’Twaun Moore-Chicago Bulls (4,300): Moore has been starting for Chicago in their last ten games due to injuries to Nikola Mirotic and Jimmy Butler. He has at least 22 fantasy points four of his last five games.  He should find space to operate tonight against an iffy Lakers defense, and I think he’s one of the best cheap plays on the board tonight.

Wayne Ellington-Brooklyn Nets (3,800): If you need to dive even deeper into the cheap SG options, Ellington continues to be a value play worth considering as he plays regular minutes for the Nets.  He has scored in double-figures in eight of his last nine games although he doesn’t have many other fantasy-relevant contributions. He has over 17 fantasy points in each of his last two games which makes him the best cheap flier although he has a limited ceiling.
