Draft Plan

The Los Angeles Rams don’t need to pay Peyton Manning a ton of money to come in and throw ducks on every down or take a chance on Robert Griffin III. They need to make their big free agency splash on a top receiver and then draft one of the top quarterbacks in the draft to pair him with.

One quarterback that should be available possibly when they pick is Paxton Lynch out of Memphis. He has the size, arm and mobility that teams desire in a quarterback. He’d instantly become popular in the Los Angeles market and the Rams might finally have their franchise quarterback.

The thing that is keeping the Rams from reaching the next level is a top quarterback and they’re not going to get one by signing free agent quarterbacks that hit the market. It’s a rarity to find one on the market and there just isn’t talent available in free agency at the position.

Invest in that quarterback of the future and watch it develop with a young roster on the field. Add in pieces around him with the $50 million the team has to spend in free agency and give the young quarterback something to work with.

They also need to draft offensive lineman and invest in an offensive line that can keep a young quarterback standing upright. The Rams have a critical draft ahead of them.
