FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 22
High Value PG
Jordan Clarkson-Los Angeles Lakers (5,900): Clarkson had 20 points for the fourth time in his last five games last night and added nine rebounds against the Bulls to finish with 37.8 fantasy points. He has at least 34 fantasy points in four of his last five, and he seems to be just fine with D’Angelo Russell’s move into the starting lineup. Clarkson and the Lakers take on Milwaukee tonight which isn’t a great matchup, but he’s still a play I like tonight due to his role in the LA offense and the fact that he’s one of the players on the team that can handle a heavier workload.∗∗∗
D’Angelo Russell-Los Angeles Lakers (4,900): Speaking of the Lakers rookie PG, Russell moved into the starting lineup last night and played 34 minutes finishing with 15 points, six assists, and 26.4 fantasy points. Russell will be a good value for as long as his price stays under 6K since he has shown he can produce 25 fantasy points pretty regularly when given the opportunity. He could still end up in coach Byron Scott’s doghouse from time to time, but if he gets his minutes he’s a nice play tonight. ∗∗∗∗
Ronnie Price-Phoenix Suns (3,500): You shouldn’t need to go ultra-cheap at PG with so many good mid-range options, but if you do need to go to the bottom of the salary structure, the player with the most upside is definitely Phoenix PG Ronnie Price. Price got a surprise start yesterday in place of Archie Goodwin and finished with 11 points, three assists, and 17.7 fantasy points in his 20 minutes. Coach Earl Watson definitely wants to have a “true” PG on the floor and I expect Price to get plenty of minutes going forward until Brandon Knight’s return in a couple of weeks. He is still a little high-risk since his minutes are not quite secured yet, but he has enough upside to make him the best cheap PG flier tonight. ∗∗
