Giannis Antetokounmpo throws down off-backboard alley-oop vs Lakers (Video)
Giannis Antetokounmpo threw down a nasty off-backboard alley-oop as the Bucks were beating down the Lakers
The Milwaukee Bucks allowed the Los Angeles Lakers to hang around in the first half of their matchup on Monday night, leading by only seven points going into halftime. However, the Bucks started to pour it on in a big way in the second half to the point that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton started turning the Bradley Center into a dunk contest arena rather than a venue for an actual NBA game.
With the Bucks having gone up by 20 points on the Lakers, Middleton got ahead of the Lakers with the ball on a fast break. Rather than just throw it down himself, though, he decided to toy with the Lakers a bit as he threw a lob off the backboard for a trailing Antetokounmpo who was there to throw down a big two-handed jam:
"Giannis on the Ultralight Beam!! #OwnTheFutureWatch NOW on @FSWisconsinhttps://t.co/LwQKJpCvSK— Milwaukee Bucks (@Bucks) February 23, 2016"
If there was a mercy rule in the NBA, now would probably be the time to invoke it in this game. It’s one thing to have a 20-point lead on a team, but it’s just downright embarrassing for the Lakers to have this getting done to them while their trailing by that much.
As if this play wasn’t evidence enough, Antetokounmpo was feeling it a bit on Monday night as he flirted with a triple double on incredibly efficient shooting.
