16.
Nkemdiche has been seen as a top-five talent in this draft class for some time and, if not for his off-field missteps in recent months, this draft slot would have been as insulting. As such, the marriage between Rex Ryan and a troubled but extremely talented defensive lineman would appear to make all the sense in the world.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound defensive tackle is bulky enough to shut down the running game while quick and explosive enough to invade the backfield with regularity on passing downs. During his career at Ole Miss, Nkemdiche was a disruptive force on a play-by-play basis, and with the benefit of Ryan’s defensive schemes and a player like Marcell Dareus to take attention away, he could really flourish in Buffalo.

The Bills might need offensive tackle help if Cordy Glenn walks away after this season, meaning that a player like Taylor Decker (or Jack Conklin, if available) could be in play here, but Rex Ryan loves to lean heavily on his defense. Furthermore, Nkemdiche’s talent level is just high enough where the non-football concerns won’t be enough to keep Rex and company away at this point in the draft order.

Come on, it is Rex Ryan we’re talking about.
. DL. Ole Miss. Robert Nkemdiche. 19. player
