The Jets have been a team linked (in big bold letters) to a player like Ezekiel Elliott but, miraculously, Elliott is actually off the board in this scenario. Fortunately for the Jets organization, this pick actually makes a lot more sense from a value perspective.

Floyd was inconsistent at times during his career at Georgia, but much of that was due to the fact that he is a) undersized and b) inexplicably asked to play in coverage during his final season with the Bulldogs. He possesses freakish speed for a player that profiles as a 3-4 OLB and a fantastic edge-rusher, and Floyd is exactly the type of athlete that will look much better after the combine is complete.

For now, though, Leonard Floyd falling to the 20th pick is certainly within the realm of possibility, and he is the best overall pass-rusher from the perspective of a 3-4 defense. The Jets could easily look for an interior linebacker, especially if someone like Reggie Ragland remained available at this point, but pass rush is a major key for New York in 2016 and beyond and Floyd can immediately serve as a situational player in that role until he develops fully.
.
