High Salary C

DeMarcus Cousins-Sacramento Kings (10,900): Cousins started his second half with a monster game of 37 points and 20 rebounds to go with four blocks and six turnovers against the Nuggets last Friday.  He totaled 68 fantasy points in that contest and has at least 49 fantasy points in five of his last nine contests.  He takes on the Nuggets again tonight after getting a three-day weekend, and look for him to be ready to fill up the stat sheet with another monster game tonight.  He’s going to cost you a lot at almost 11K, but he’s also the lowest risk of all the superstars since his production is almost always at a crazy-high level.

Brook Lopez-Brooklyn Nets (8,600): Lopez is another high-priced center in a good matchup as he faces the Blazers and his former backup Miles Plumlee in Portland.  Lopez had 16 points, ten rebounds, an six assists for 43 fantasy points against Charlotte on Sunday giving him at least 42 fantasy points in six of his last ten games overall and both of his two games since the All-Star break.  BroLo ripped Portland for 25 points, seven boards, a block, and an assist when the two teams played earlier this season, and he’ll be a strong play again tonight as he and the Nets try to pick up a road win in the West.

Nikola Vucevic-Orlando Magic (8,300): There are a lot of high salary centers in good places to succeed tonight. Vucevic is one of the best plays, though, as he and the Magic take on the Sixers who have allowed more fantasy points to opposing centers than any other team in the NBA.  Vucevic has been rolling coming in off of four straight double-doubles and at least 40 fantasy points in three of his last four contests. Vucevic logs plenty of time in the Magic’s shortened rotation and is averaging over 35 minutes per game in his eight contests so far this month.  He is averaging 19.9 points and 10.3 rebounds to go with 3.3 assists and 1.0 blocks during that time frame so look for him to post another very nice line tonight against the Sixers. ∗∗

Marcin Gortat-Washington Wizards (7,100): Gortat posted 47 fantasy points, 31.8 fantasy points, and 34.6 fantasy points in the Wizards back-to-back-to-back to start the second half and now has at least 31 fantasy points in five of his last seven games with six double-doubles during that time frame.  The Pelicans will be thin up front against the Wizards tonight without Omer Asik, and even with Asik they’ve allowed the second-most fantasy points to apposing centers so far this season and the fourth-most over their last ten games. Gortat’s in a good matchup to attack tonight if you can’t scrape together the salary to get over 8K.
