High Salary PG

John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,800):  The Wizards opened the second half with three straight games, but have has a couple days off to recover for tonight’s game against the Pelicans.  In those three games, Wall had 46.7, 45.6, and 22.8 fantasy points although the down game came mostly as a result of the fatigue of carrying the offense in the other two.  He’s in a great matchup tonight against the Pelicans who have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG over their last five games. Wall will need to go off if you pay this much for him, and I think he’ll have every chance to do that in a good matchup and back at home. Washington does play again tomorrow in Chicago, so his minutes may be managed which does raise his risk factor.

Damian Lillard-Portland Trail Blazers (9,500): Lillard has scored 30 points or more in four straight games and has at least 37 fantasy points in nine of his last ten games including three of his last six with at least 50 fantasy points.  He followed his 73.5 fantasy point outburst against the Warriors with 39.3 fantasy points against the Jazz on Sunday.  He and the Blazers are in a good late matchup against the Nets and then get tomorrow off before hosting Houston.  Lillard is definitely rolling and is the key to the Blazers offense. The Nets have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing PG this season, so look for another strong game from Dame tonight.

Rajon Rondo-Sacramento Kings (9,200): Rondo rounds out the big three PG options for tonight and is also in a great matchup as he rolls into Denver to take on the Nuggets who have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing PG this season.  Rondo finished his first half with two games with at least 50 fantasy points in his last three and picked up right where he left off with a dominating performance Saturday when he posted 24 points, ten rebounds, nine assists, and five steals against the Nuggets for 55.5 fantasy points. He’ll face Denver again tonight and is a great option to produce another monster game even though he doesn’t score in the same way that Lillard and Wall are capable of.

Jrue Holiday-New Orleans Pelicans (7,800): The only  PG option that makes sense in between 6,000-9,000 is Jrue Holiday of the Pelicans who has been solid even though he continues to come off the bench despite all the Pelicans injuries.  Over the last month, Holiday has averaged 20.5 points, 7.6 assists, 3.8 boards, and 2.0 steals and has reached at least 42 fantasy points in four of his last five games. He’s actually a little under-priced based on his recent run of production, but the reason he is risky is that he doesn’t log over 35 minutes in most games despite really good productivity when he is on the floor.
