High Value PG

Darren Collison-Sacramento Kings (5,000): While there is plenty of star power at PG tonight, there aren’t a lot of viable sleeper options.  One to check out is Darren Collison who continues to be productive int he Sacramento attack.  He played 33 minutes on Friday against the Nuggets finishing with 25.4 fantasy points on 17 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Collison has at least 25 fantasy points in four of his last five games and contributes nice numbers when playing in the back court next to Rondo as well as when he runs the point while Rondo rests.

Brandon Jennings-Orlando Magic (3,900): While the mid-range is definitely lacking in options, the cheap end of the PG pool has a few solid options to consider all three of which just changed teams and are stepping into new roles.  The first of these “sleeper” plays is Brandon Jennings who Orlando acquired in the Tobias Harris trade.  Jennings has played 25 minutes in each of his two games with Orlando and has produced good numbers in both contests with 25.6 and 26.3 fantasy points. He is splitting time pretty evenly with Elfrid Payton right now and with a good matchup against the Sixers, Jennings could be in store for another solid game and possibly even pick up some good scoring in garbage time.

Shelvin Mack-Utah Jazz (3,700): It’s a very small sample-size, but Shelvin Mack looked very good in his first game with his new team on Sunday playing 24 minutes against the Blazers and finishing with 16 points, six assists, three rebounds, and a block to total 29.6 fantasy points. Mack has a great opportunity to earn time over Raul Neto and Trey Burke who have both struggled.  Mack will be a great option if his playing time is regular enough to make him reliable, but it is risky to roll with him tonight since he’s only played one game in Utah.

D.J. Augustin-Denver Nuggets (3,700): Augustin played 30 minutes against the Celtics in his second game with the Nuggets after Denver acquired him from OKC for Randy Foye.  In his 30 minutes, Augustin had 13 points, four assists, and three rebounds to post over 20 fantasy points for the second straight game since joining Denver.  With Jameer Nelson still sidelined, Augustin will be the primary backup again tonight and should get good court time in the high-scoring game in the Mile High City as the Nuggets host the Kings. Both he and Mack are still risky in their new situations, but I’d lean toward Mack if forced to choose one since he has a clearer path to big minutes while Augustin will remain behind rookie Emmanuel Mudiay for playing time at least int he short term.
