FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 23
High Value SG
Rodney Hood-Utah Jazz (5,900): Hood and the Jazz face the Rockets tonight who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing SG this season thanks to James Harden’s general lack of interest in defense. Hood had 23 points and seven assists against the Rockets the last time they visited Utah, but he was limited with an ankle injury when the Jazz visited Houston a few cals later. Since he’s over his injury now and playing a healthy 35 minutes a game, Hood should be able to continue his run of success which has seen him average 18.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists over his last ten games.∗∗∗
Evan Fournier-Orlando Magic (5,400): Fournier has been one of the big winners at the trade deadline since the trade of Tobias Harris to Detroit opened up some playing time for Fournier. He was limited a bit by foul trouble on Sunday but still managed 34 minutes and scored 23 points against Indiana. In his four previous games, Fournier had played over 42 minutes in each contest, and he has finished with at least 27 fantasy points in each of his last six games since Harris has been out of the Magic rotation (first due to injury then due to the trade). Fournier is a great play tonight against the Sixers and should have another big night in store. ∗∗∗∗∗
Gary Harris-Denver Nuggets (4,700): Harris has posted at least 20 fantasy points in four straight games going back to before the break and has scored 14 points in each of Denver’s two games since the break. He is playing 35+ minutes almost every night for coach Mike Malone, and in a high-scoring shootout against the Kings tonight he should be set up for another solid fantasy performance. ∗∗∗
Wayne Ellington-Brooklyn Nets (3,800): If you have to go ultra-cheap at SG due to your salary choices elsewhere, Ellington is the best cheap play and has scored in double-digits in nine of his last ten games with over 15 fantasy points in each of his last three. He continues to start for the Nets although his non-scoring production isn’t enough to give him a high ceiling. He probably won’t give you a total dud, but he won’t go off tonight against the Blazers either. ∗∗
