High Salary PG

Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (11,000): While there are several solid elite guard options tonight, I like Westbrook the best as he continues to put up crazy numbers on a nightly basis.  Even though the Thunder got blown out by Cleveland Sunday, Westbrook had 51.25 fantasy points on 20 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds.  He has at least 50 fantasy points in each of his last ten games with 60 fantasy points or more in four of those contests.  He is extremely pricey, but he’s also extremely consistent and has the ability to absolutely go off if he takes over the game tonight as the Thunder look to send a message to a team they may see in the playoffs.∗∗∗

John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,800): If you can’t quite scrape together the coin for Westbrook, Wall is a great play tonight as well even though his Wizards are playing for the fifth time in the last seven nights.  In his four games since the break, Wall has reached 45 fantasy points three times including last night when he had a triple-double against the Pelicans and only had to play 32 minutes to get 16 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, and 58 fantasy points. Wall is in a good matchup to succeed tonight since the Bulls have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing PG so far this season and have especially struggles since losing Jimmy Butler.∗∗∗

Kyle Lowry-Toronto Raptors (8,500): Lowry and the Raptors are just three games behind Cleveland in the race for the top seed in the Eastern Conference as they host the T-Wolves tonight.  Minnesota has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing PG this season, so Lowry should be set up for success in this matchup at home tonight.  He had a triple-double of his own on Monday as he and the Raptors cruised by New York and Lowry posted 56.75 fantasy points on 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists in 35 minutes.  He struggled with his shot when the Raptors visited Minnesota before the break, but he should be able to put together a much better outing tonight at home against the T-Wolves. ∗∗∗∗

Derrick Rose-Chicago Bulls (7,500): Rose has been a regular in my DraftKings daily picks since the Jimmy Butler injury and continues to be a solid option at PG who comes at a relatively affordable price.  Rose had 40.75 fantasy points when the Bulls last played on Sunday against the Lakers.  He has at least 37 fantasy points in each of his last three games and in six of the seven contests he has played without Butler in the backcourt next to him.  With no Butler his assist and rebounds have been solid while he’s had to score 20 points or more almost ever night.  He’s a good play tonight as he and the Bulls welcome John Wall to the United Center. ∗∗∗∗

Mike Conley-Memphis Grizzlies (6,900): Conley is in the best matchup of the night as he faces the Lakers who have given up more fantasy points to opposing PG than any other team in the NBA.  Conley should be able to take it to LA and erase the memory of a stinker on Sunday in Toronto when he totaled just 19.75 fantasy points on eight points in 35 minutes.  Before that game, he had been stepping up nicely with over 35 fantasy points in three straight while picking up the scoring slack for the injured Marc Gasol.  Look for Conley to be aggressive in this matchup tonight and fill up the stat sheet for Memphis against LA. ∗∗∗∗∗

Reggie Jackson-Detroit Pistons (6,700): Jackson is a volatile option who sometimes fails to take advantage when he’s in  good matchup and goes off in a seemingly tough matchup.  However, it’s hard to pass him up tonight against the 76ers coming off at least 21 points in four of his last six games and over 30 fantasy points in five of his last eight.  Jackson has been playing well, but he’s still a little high-risk due to his inconsistency. ∗∗

Goran Dragic-Miami Heat (6,400): Another good mid-range option at PG is Goran Dragic who has stepped up big-time since the All Star break for the Heat who have moved into a tie with Boston for the three-seed in the East.  Dragic has posted 46.25, 46.75, and 41 fantasy points in his three games since the break showing more aggression on the offensive end while maintaining good non-scoring numbers as well. Dragic and the Heat will get their shot at the Warriors tonight, and Golden State has actually been getting beat up by opposing PG lately allowing more fantasy points to opposing PG than any other team in the NBA (even the Lakers and Suns) over their last five and ten game spans. Dragic and the Heat will have to run all night to try and keep up with Steph and the Warriors, so look for him to post another good stat line in what will probably end up being a loss. ∗∗∗∗
