High Value PG

Tony Parker-San Antonio Spurs (5,100): While Kawhi Leonard’s absence has been the early news of the second half for the Spurs, Tony Parker has been carrying the load on offense with good games against the Lakers and Suns who both struggle to defend opposing PG.  Parker posted 25 points against LA on Saturday finishing with 35.25 fantasy points and followed that with 31 fantasy points on 22 points in 27 minutes against the Suns on Monday.  Parker is in another good matchup tonight against the Kings who allow the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing PG, and he’s a solid pick to help the Spurs pile up points tonight especially if Kawhi is again sidelined with his troublesome calf. With Kawhi-∗∗, No Kawhi-

D’Angelo Russell-Los Angeles Lakers (4,900): If you have to go under 5K for one of your PG, one of the few options who is actually a starter is the newly-selected starter in LA for the rest of the season, rookie D’Angelo Russell. Russell still will have his ups and downs as evidenced by an under-whelming 22.25 fantasy points against Bucks on Monday, but he should get about 30 minutes a game the rest of the way and be around 25 fantasy points most nights which is good enough for him to be considered as a value play at his sub-5K price tonight.

Cory Joseph-Toronto Raptors (4,200): Another one of my go-to options if I need a cheap PG play is Cory Joseph.  CoJo has played at least 24 minutes for the Raptors in each of his last ten games and has at least 20 fantasy points in four of his last five games including a very nice 28.25 fantasy points against the Knicks on Monday.  Joseph gets plenty of run as primary backup at both guard position and fills in the Raptors small lineup next to DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. He’s a solid option if you have to go cheap and will almost surely give you something even though his ceiling is capped by his backup role.

D.J. Augustin-Denver Nuggets (3,300): Augustin has been really good for his new team in Denver assuming the role of primary backup PG with Jameer Nelson out.  Augustin has played at least 19 minutes in all three of his games as a Nugget and passed out at least four assists while scoring at least eight points in each of those contests.  He will continue to come off the bench behind rookie Emmanuel Mudiay but he is getting enough playing time to make him the best cheap play under 4K on the board tonight as he and the Nuggets travel west to finish their back-to-back with a matchup against the Clippers.∗∗
