Chicago Bulls vs Atlanta Hawks

Despite being without Jimmy Butler, the Chicago Bulls have put together a three-game win streak and are looking much better in recent contests. This hot streak is following up an ice-cold one in which Chicago lost seven of eight games. However, the defense could use some work as the Bulls are struggling to keep opponents under 100 points.

Derrick Rose has been playing some fantastic ball in Butler’s absence, making his leadership role more performance-based than it had been previously. He’s averaging 16.5 points and 4.8 assists on the year, starting to look like his old self. Pau Gasol has been an all-around consistent player, putting up 16.9 points and grabbing 10.8 boards per game.

Not quite living up to the high expectations after finishing as the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference last season, the Atlanta Hawks are just 31-27 and currently have more losses at this point in the year than they did in all of 2014-15. Mike Budenholzer’s easy transition to the East hasn’t been as such in 2015-16, but the Hawks are still playoff-worthy.

Paul Millsap seems to be the top player on offense despite not exactly playing as well as he would have hoped. He’s averaging a team-high 17.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Al Horford was the subject of trade rumors, but he stayed put and the Hawks will need him to step up down the stretch. Jeff Teague is another glue piece while Dennis Schroder is one of the top backups in the league.
