DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 26
High Salary PG
Chris Paul-Los Angeles Clippers (9,600): There are two games tonight that I think will be high-scoring. One is the Sixers-Wizards and the other is the Clippers-Kings. It’s no surprise then, that my top point guards come from those matchups. Paul leads the way for me tonight as he continues to carry the Clippers offense without Blake Griffin. Paul has at least 44 fantasy points in each of his last five games and is averaging 19.8 points, 11.6 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.8 steals over that five-game span. Paul hasn’t owned Sacramento like you might expect, but since the Kings allow the fourth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG I still think he’s in a great matchup tonight.∗∗∗
John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,200): Wall is in a good matchup as well against the Sixers who he had a triple-double against in the only game he has played against them this season. He had 18 points, 13 rebounds, ten assists, two steals, and a block for 59.75 fantasy points when the teams met earlier this month, and he’ll look to post similar numbers tonight. Even if the game gets ugly late, Wall should be able to get his production early in a high-scoring contest. He and the Wizards have had a brutal schedule since the All Star break and are playing their sixth game in the last nine nights tonight, but given the matchup I think he’s still a good, solid play. ∗∗∗
Mike Conley-Memphis Grizzlies (7,200): If you decide not to spend on the elite options, one of the best midrange plays of the day is Mike Conley of the Grizzlies who has stepped up in the wake of the Grizzlies losing Marc Gasol to injury and trading away Courtney Lee and Jeff Green. Conley has at least 35 fantasy points in four of his last five games and posted an impressive 45.5 earlier this week against the Lakers who he’ll face again tonight. Los Angeles allows more fantasy points to opposing PG than any other team in the NBA, and Conley will be ready to deliver more punishment to them tonight at STAPLES Center. Conley only had to play 29 minutes to pile up 24 points, eight assists, and six rebounds against the Lakers on Wednesday, so he should be good to put up big points again tonight since he may need to play more time depending on how close the game is. ∗∗∗∗∗
Deron Williams-Dallas Mavericks (6,000): Williams is riskier than Conley or any other PG on this list due to the fact that he’s playing through a dislocated finger. He was able to pop it back in place and play 35 minutes on Wednesday, so he should be able to play his normal minutes tonight in a good matchup against the Nuggets who allow the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing PG. Williams had posted 30+ fantasy points in four straight games before finishing with just 26.75 fantasy points in the game he dislocated his finger and he has 22 points, four boards, and four assists when he last faced the Nuggets. He has been playing well lately and as long as his injury doesn’t radically affect his shot he should be a solid play tonight in a plus matchup. ∗∗
