High Salary PG

Chris Paul-Los Angeles Clippers (9,800): There are two games tonight that I think will be high-scoring. One is the Sixers-Wizards and the other is the Clippers-Kings.  It’s no surprise then, that my top point guards come from those matchups.  Paul leads the way for me tonight as he continues to carry the Clippers offense without Blake Griffin.  Paul has at least 42 fantasy points in each of his last five games and is averaging 19.8 points, 11.6 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.8 steals over that five-game span.  Paul hasn’t owned Sacramento like you might expect, but since the Kings allow the fourth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG I still think he’s in a great matchup tonight.

John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,700): Wall is in a good matchup as well against the Sixers who he had a triple-double against in the only game he has played against them this season. He had 18 points, 13 rebounds, ten assists, two steals, and a block for 51.6 fantasy points when the teams met earlier this month, and he’ll look to post similar numbers tonight.  Even if the game gets ugly late, Wall should be able to get his production early in a high-scoring contest.  He and the Wizards have had a brutal schedule since the All Star break and are playing their sixth game in the last nine nights tonight, but given the matchup I think he’s still a good, solid play.

Rajon Rondo-Sacramento Kings (9,000): Don’t overlook Rondo tonight even though he doesn’t score points like Wall or Paul since he has been giving out crazy assist numbers lately.  Rondo has at least 12 assists in seven of his last eight games and has posted 48 fantasy points or more in three of his last four contests.  He had 18 dimes against the Spurs on Wednesday in Sacramento’s narrow loss to San Antonio and he continues to produce solid stat lines across the board on most nights.  Rondo has averaged 12.2 points, 12.9 assists, 3.3 steals, and 5.4 rebounds in his nine games this month, and he should have another good game tonight in a high-scoring contest against CP3 and the Clippers.

Mike Conley-Memphis Grizzlies (6,900): If you decide not to spend on the three 9K+ elite options, one of the best midrange plays of the day is Mike Conley of the Grizzlies who has stepped up in the wake of the Grizzlies losing Marc Gasol to injury and trading away Courtney Lee and Jeff Green.  Conley has at least 33 fantasy points in four of his last five games and posted an impressive 43.2 earlier this week against the Lakers who he’ll face again tonight.  Los Angeles allows more fantasy points to opposing PG than any other team in the NBA, and Conley will be ready to deliver more punishment to them tonight at STAPLES Center.  Conley only had to play 29 minutes to pile up 24 points, eight assists, and six rebounds against the Lakers on Wednesday, so he should be good to put up big points again tonight since he may need to play more time depending on how close the game is.
