High Value SG

E’Twaun Moore-Chicago Bulls (5,600): There was a time earlier this season when Moore was out of the Bulls rotation, but their recent rush of injuries including Jimmy Butler, Nikola Mirotic, and most recently Derrick Rose have left a ton of time for Moore to fill.  Moore struggled last night against Atlanta playing just 22 minutes and finishing with 7.25 fantasy points, but he had posted 24+ fantasy points in six of his previous seven.  He’s still hit-or-miss, obviously from those numbers, but he should get plenty of playing time again tonight and hopefully the Bulls don’t get blown out like they did last night which was the primary reason for his reduced minutes.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope-Detroit Pistons (5,100): The Pistons have been thin at wing lately with the losses of Stanley Johnson and Anthony Tolliver, but fortunately Caldwell-Pope is back from his injury and playing well over 30 minutes a game.  He had back-to-back games with over 25 fantasy points before struggling against the 76ers with just 11 points in 30 minutes as the Pistons cruised to the win. Tonight, he’ll go up against the young, athletic wings of the Bucks in what should be a fun matchup to watch.  KCP hasn’t been consistent enough to count on, but the potential is definitely there at this affordable price point.

Danny Green-San Antonio Spurs (4,700): Green didn’t score a single point against the Jazz on Thursday finishing with just 5.5 fantasy points in his 28 minutes. He had posted 30.75 fantasy points and 36.25 fantasy points in his two previous games and has had to step into a larger role due to the injury to Manu Ginobili. The Jazz are a tough matchup for opposing SG, and I think Green will bounce back tonight against the Rockets who allow the eight-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG. Green has averaged 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.3 steals against the Rockets in three meeting this year, and I think he’ll have a strong bounce-back game tonight after disappearing in Utah. ∗∗

Dion Waiters-Oklahoma City Thunder (4,200): Waiters has shaken off his shooting slump a bit in his last two games with over 23 fantasy points in each contest against the Mavs and Pelicans.  He is back to coming off the bench behind Andre Roberson, but his playing time has been about the same.  Since there should be plenty of points in the Thunder-Warriors game, you could hope to catch Waiters on a good night and take a flier on him for just over 4K tonight. He’s extremely high-risk but the best sub-4K play at the position tonight.

Vince Carter-Memphis Grizzlies (3,700): Yes, that Vince Carter is still around and has been involved in the Memphis rotation since they traded away Courtney Lee and Jeff Green at the deadline.  Carter has at least 25 fantasy points in three of his last four games and at least 17 fantasy points in five straight. Last night, he had 19 points in 20 minutes against the Lakers and finished with 27.75 fantasy points.  Expecting him to produce on back-to-back night’s is risky, but he has been playing 20+ minutes every game for the Grizz, so there is definitely potential in a great matchup against the Suns in Phoenix.
